The Design Process

design processAt WunderWebs, the design process is what happens from the time you sign your engagement agreement and send the Webgoddess your deposit until your site is launched and live on the internet.

1. LISTEN (Consultation phase): The WebGoddess will set up some phone time so she can go over your ideas and goals for your website as well as provide email consultation or recommendations where requested and/or needed. You’re welcome to send her any follow-up thoughts or ideas you might not have covered on the phone consultations.

2. PLAN (Design Phase): Once your deposit and design agreement are signed, received, your project is set up on her development server. This is where she will take all of your ideas, her ideas and with your ultimate needs and goals in mind, apply her skills and talents to deliver what’s called a “mock-up” or a “dummy site”. And while she does take tremendous pride in delivering great design, revisions are included until the mock-up is as you like it, per the terms outlined in the website proposal. While she is available for phone calls, it is preferable that most correspondence regarding your project, including things like images, text copy and such, are managed via email.

3. EXECUTE (Development Phase): Once the design is approved and the next phase of your deposit is received, the design is enters the development phase, where it will be made into a functioning website. Design and structural changes at this point are often well out of scope and can be costly, so please keep that in mind if you tend to be indecisive. You will be emailed a login and a password so that you can get acquainted with the admin panel at this time. The admin panel will make it very easy for you to manage your website from any computer, anywhere, saving you money in maintenance and support costs.

4. REFINE (Migration and Launch): Following payment of the final balance, this is when your website officially opens on the internet. It is highly recommend that you have previously submitted a Press Release to the WebGoddess which she will then submit to various online news-wire agencies. This also when she will finalize the SEO functionality for the site, create the XML sitemap, and provide basic instruction over the phone or in person (if you are in the area) on how to manage your website. (You’re always welcome to email her with any questions as well!) And that’s it — your website is officially online and awesome!

  1. Lot of times people takes designing very easy, but it is very integral part for any website. If the designing goes wrong then the whole output can be scrambled. Great advice. Thank you!
