In the 1970’s, Johnny operated his own recording studio where he managed and recorded other musicians and groups. He also recorded two albums of his own: Stewart And Franklin Live and The Johnny Stewart Show Live from the Disneyland Hotel. In addition, Johnny has recorded with well-know artists such as Frosty from Rare Earth, Lee Michaels and Bill Champlin of Chicago and Sons of Champlin.

“As a musician I was always growing artistically, stimulated by other musicians. And music was spontaneous. I still sit in with my singers playing my trombone or trumpet. It gives me a sense of being part of the music.” -Johnny Stewart

For many years Johnny was the publisher of San Diego Scene magazine. As a DJ and karaoke host, he has celebrated many long running shows including one record breaking show–the San Diego Four Points Sheraton Hotel for ten years. With his Karaoke Kollege, he has also started many karaoke hosts on their way to karaoke success.

Johnny also designs sound reinforcement systems for touring bands and karaoke companies.

Sandra Miller-Long, The WebGoddess

In June of 1994, when the internet was still in its infancy, the WebGoddess (AKA Sandra Miller-Long) was hired to design and develop websites for WunderWebs.com. She has yet to be fired. Over the course of the past 16 years, the WebGoddess (who gets a real kick out of referring to herself in the third person) has worked on business sites, intranet sites, e-stores, custom designed graphics, blogs and other projects of varying scope. You could say she is somewhat of an OLD pro in this relatively new industry.

As a small business owner herself, the WebGoddess appreciates the needs small companies have when developing their business online. Whether you have a traditional business that is looking to expand to the web, a small business that hasn’t yet seen the results you had hoped for online, or a home based business just getting started, her focus is on finding specific solutions to your online challenges. She has the technical aptitude and attention to create solid code, the design sensibilities and esthetic sense to know what looks and works well, and the drive to consistently strive for a good balance of both.

In addition to strong website design abilities, the WebGoddess has over ten years experience writing for the karaoke community. For many years she was the Story Editor and Head Writer for San Diego Scene Karaoke Magazine. She has taught promotional and technical writing as well as website design, and continues to mentor other designers and writers.

She describes herself to be a classy, mature woman, with a heart as big as all out doors, even the double kind that open by themselves in supermarkets. She is pro-choice, spiritually inclined but not conventionally religious, anti-dogmatic and non-doctrinaire, a headtripper without benefit of psychedelics, and a passionate but pathetic karaoke singer.

An award winner writer, she has raised five children. Not one of them read her articles.

She is married to a wonderful man who does read her articles but refuses to admit it.

She does not look like her photograph.

Carolyn Hawks, Head Writer

At four, Carolyn Hawks was belting out show tunes with strolling musicians at the Del Mar Fair. During her teen years she was giving drum lessons to her friends. At 23, she earned a Bachelor of Music in Performance from San Diego State University. By her thirtieth birthday she was staging shows for local colleges often taking on the job of cast vocal coach. Today when she’s not singing with various groups or playing the drums, Carolyn is busy teaching piano, voice and drum lessons at her studio and has been actively involved in the musical world of karaoke.

It is not just the fact that she is a drummer that makes Carolyn different. Rather it is her interest in helping others achieve their musical goals, her knowledge of what lies behind the melody, and most importantly her passion for singing, which sets her apart.

Carolyn Hawks describes herself to be a stubborn, dogmatic, passionate musician who says, “I know when the crowd is with me and exactly when I’ve lost them entirely.” Due to her extensive musical training Carolyn can sing and play all styles of music. However, when she’s out to have fun she sings Country.

She’s gone through two marriages (to the same man), and raised his four children and her “brother’s” own two. She chose to not have any of her own.

If you want to get on her good side, don’t lie. If you want on her bad side, hurt a child or an animal.

Her values are “country”. Make her proud of you, she’ll shake your hand. Make her suspicious, and she won’t be around long enough to even look at you sideways.
