Where was Slim from?

What an amazing mind you have, Peter—both intellectual and creative. You see more in these photos than I would ever have thought to look for. Dating Stonehenge. What a concept.   The 30’s would be exact the time frame we would expect. No?

I love those photos you sent, especially the castle!  Not too many of those over here. When I do finally get to England, that’s the type of countryside I want to see.

In any event, I’m working on a theory that Slim may actually have been an American named Clarence Zalewski who ended up as a POW in Germany during the war.  Since Karen’s family accounting of the album origin is sketchy,  there leaves much room for how or where her grandfather may have actually come into possession of the album.  When I get the time to flesh this theory out a bit more, I’ll send it off to you both. In the meantime, let me know your best arguments as to why you think Slim could not have been from the USA.
